We are a National Organisation of Catholic Women, open to all women of all ages who support our aims and objectives.
The Union of Catholic Mothers is active in sixteen of the Dioceses in England.
A pilgrimage is a journey undertaken to a sacred or holy place with the intention of asking for the Lord’s blessing in your life.
We are actively encouraging our members to write to their MP expressing concerns about the lack of adequate support for RE in schools and the Government’s recruitment targets for specialist RE teachers in secondary education is not being met. The subject knowledge enhancement (SKE) courses in secondary education for RE is no longer funded by the government although the funding exists for other SKE. courses in Maths, Physics, Languages, Biology, Chemistry, Computing, English, Geography and Design and Technology. RE has been excluded from the EBacc even though the humanities of Geography and History are included.
